Floods Creek is part of a series of waterfalls known as Somersby Falls, on the picturesque NSW Central Coast. Many visitors, impressed by the imposing upper cascades they first encounter, think they´ve “seen it all”. Sadly, they don´t take the time to descend to the lower, more varied waterfalls that continue as the creek plunges into the valley below. I love this section, second from the top, because it is so quiet and tranquil. The moss-covered rocks, the native melaleuca trees clinging stubbornly to the lichen stained boulders and the gentle sprays of fresh mountain water cascading over the falls, leave you with an impression of stillness and nature´s simple harmony.
